My doctor kept giving me meds which did not work. I took it upon myself to go to the chiropractor and boy did it work. I’m 6months too and I’ve been having this problem for a month now. If I miss a appt. at the chiropractor, boy can I tell. Try it, I’m sure it will work for you. There are plenty of chiropractors that will see you no matter what insurance you have…medicaid, blue cross blue shield, companion, etc. just call around. Excellent Luck. Oh and try hot baths before bed with a heating pad for 30 mins before bed. I still do that too.
depends on where the pain is. Try some light stretching. This always worked for me– lie on the edge of your bed with one hip, leg and foot hanging off the edge. You’ll feel a stretch in your hip and lower back. That always worked for me!
Pain in the lower back and hips is common in pregnancy due to the uterosacral ligament. It stretches from the sacrum to the uterus and is a source of major support. I would highly recommend getting a massage from a massage therapist trained in prenatal massage. It is very relaxing. They have many pain relieving techniques. And it is just heavenly when your body is working so hard. You deserve it! Best wishes for you and your baby!
I like my beanbag that you heat up in the microwave. I know it doesn’t help much when sitting but sleeping with a body pillow at night on my side with one leg over the top of it really helps ease the pressure at the end of the day.
Another option could be to use a tummy sleeve or something to help support the belly which can ease some of the pressure.
I also do a stretch that helps and it’s simple to do while sitting. Cross your legs and place the ankle of your leg on top of the opposite knee. Then you just lean forward over the top of your crossed leg. It stretches that whole pelvic region gently and it helps me a lot. There are other exercises and stretches you can do too that will help. Look up pregnancy yoga or pilates as well and question your doctor
I know how aggravating that pain is I have it with this one.
the chiropractor if you can afford it. My insurance covered it which is why I went 3 times a week. I had, and still have 18 months later, severe sciatica pain. I would be walking one minute and the next crumpled over in pain because the pain would shoot down my back, thru my butt and down my left leg . The further you are into your pregnancy the less they can do for you when you do go. You can still be adjusted, which did help . Especially if you feel like you get kinks or need your back cracked at the end of the day. They can stimulate your muscles with electrodes to relax them if they are super tight. Which feels excellent. Our chiropractor has a hydrotherapy bed. Imgaine a water chair, not a water bed. Heated to a high temp like if you like really hot showers and you lay on it and it vibrates nearly. I could never use it since they don’t allow you on there when you are pregnant but I used it after I had her and it worked fantastic. I would seriously look into it. DONT use an electric heating pad . It can get too hot and it’s not recommended. Alot of chiropractors do payment plans, or defered copays like mine did if your tight on cash but really need to be adjusted.
