Lower Back Pain Exercises: A Cure to That Dreaded Pain in Your Back

Pain in the lower back is really a very common concern, and in fact, it affects up to ninety percent of Americans, and fifty percent of them will have more than one episode of lower back injury. This condition is not really a specific kind of disease. Instead, such condition is just a symptom that a person will likely to experience if his lower back pain muscle has some kind of injury. Some people that suffer from lower back pain cannot find any cure to it, even after a thorough medical examination was conducted on them. But in most cases, lower back pain exercises is being recommended by doctors as the best lower back pain relief.
Performing regular exercise, more specifically lower back pain exercises, will greatly help a lot in restoring the strength of your back and will help you to gradually return to your day to day activities without any interruption of lower back pain muscle. Your orthopedic surgeon as well as your physical therapist will advise you to undergo an exercise for about 10 up to 30 minutes in a day on your first few days of recovery. They might question you to perform any of these lower back pain exercises:
Ankle Pumps – This can be performed by lying on your back, and then moving your ankles up and down. Repeat up to ten times.
Heel Slides – Start this exercise by lying on your back and then slowly bending and straightening your knee. Repeat the movement up to ten times.
Abdominal Contraction – This exercise starts with you lying on your back while bending your knees and then rests your hands just below your rib area. Afterwards, tighten your abdominal muscles and then squeeze your ribs down towards your back. When doing this, be sure to hold your breath and hold it for five seconds. Relax afterwards, and repeat this lower back pain exercises for up to ten times.
You might feel some pain when doing these lower back pain training exercises, but do not let your dread of pain prevent you from trying any of these exercises. These exercises will help you to gradually increase your activity level, so you will be able to gain back your flexibility, strength, and endurance and obtain lower back pain relief.
